FAQ

Questions people actually ask.

Pricing, process, ownership, our work, and how we actually build things, in plain language, no fine print you have to decode.

No questions match that search. Try a different word, or just ask us directly.

General

What does Apex Web Solution actually do?

We design, build, deploy, and maintain websites for small and mid-sized businesses: anything from a focused single-page site to a fuller build with booking, e-commerce, or a custom quote system. See our Services page for the full breakdown.

Who do you typically work with?

Small businesses, service providers, restaurants, retailers, and startups who want a site that doesn't look like a recycled template, plus businesses that already have a site and want it renovated or rebuilt properly.

Do you only work with businesses in New Jersey or the US?

No. We're remote-first and work with clients anywhere. New Jersey is where we're based, not where we're limited to.

Are you a big agency or a small team?

Small, on purpose. There's no rotating account-manager layer between you and the person doing the actual work. See our About page for more on how we're set up.

What actually makes you different from other web design companies?

We use the same modern tools, including Claude Code, that any serious engineering team uses now, but every detail you give us actually shapes the build instead of getting slotted into a generic AI-generated template. See Technology, Ownership & How We Build below. Beyond that: direct communication with the person doing the work, transparent pricing, and realistic timelines instead of overpromises.

Getting Started

How do I start a project?

Fill out the contact form with a bit about your project, or call/email us directly. We'll follow up, usually within one business day, to talk through what you need.

What do you need from me to get started?

A sense of what you're trying to build, any existing branding (logo, colors, content) if you have it, and a rough budget or timeline. We can help fill in the gaps if you don't have everything ready yet.

What does the process actually look like, step by step?

Discover, Design, Build, and Launch: we talk through your goals, design the site with you reviewing along the way, build it, then test and launch. Full detail on our Services page.

How long does a typical project take?

It depends on scope: a Foundation-tier site is usually a few weeks; anything with custom features (Apex tier) gets a timeline as part of your quote, agreed before work starts.

Can you redesign or improve a website I already have?

Yes. Choose Apex on the contact form and let us know you already have a site, and we'll go through what you want changed and quote based on that, not a full rebuild by default.

What if I'm not sure exactly what I need yet?

That's normal, and fine. Tell us roughly what your business does and what's frustrating you about your current site (or lack of one), and we'll ask the right questions and point you to the plan that fits.

Design & Revisions

Will I actually see the design before it's built?

Yes. Design comes before build, and you review it along the way. Nothing gets coded from a design you haven't seen and approved.

How many rounds of revisions do I get?

Your quote includes a set number of revision rounds during design and build, typically two or three. If you want more past that, or something outside the original scope, we'll quote the extra work before doing it, never bill you silently.

Can I pick my own colors, fonts, and layout?

Absolutely. It's your brand and your business. We'll make recommendations based on what actually works for your audience, but the final call is always yours.

What happens if I don't like the direction after the first draft?

Tell us specifically what's not working and we'll revise it within your included rounds. We'd rather get it right than rush something you're not happy with out the door.

Do you create branding too, or only use what I already have?

Both. If you already have a logo and brand colors, we design around them. If you're starting from scratch, we can help establish that direction as part of the design phase. Mention it when you reach out.

Our Work

Can I see real examples of your work?

We're a newer studio, so our public Work page is still filling in with real client launches rather than a long back-catalog. If seeing more before you commit matters to you, say so when you reach out: happy to talk through examples directly on a call.

What industries have you built for?

Restaurants, retail, real estate, professional services, and startups are our focus, but the process (real design, clean code, honest timelines) applies regardless of industry.

Are the projects on your Work page real clients?

Marked clearly if not: anything labeled a placeholder or sample is exactly that, not a real client dressed up to look like one. We'd rather be upfront about being new than fake a portfolio.

Will my project be added to your portfolio?

Likely, yes. We like showing off finished work, and we'll feature it unless you ask us not to. Full detail in the ownership section of our Terms & Conditions.

Pricing & Payment

What's included in each plan?

Foundation is a one-time build. Momentum is the same build plus a year of maintenance. Apex is fully custom and quoted after a call. Full breakdown on our Pricing page.

Is anything not included in the price?

Domain registration, hosting, database fees, and third-party services are billed separately by those providers. They're not part of our price.

How does payment actually work?

We agree on a payment schedule (deposit, milestones, or whatever fits) in writing before work starts, as part of your project contract.

Can I cancel a project after starting?

Yes. Either side can cancel with written notice. You pay for whatever's been done up to that point; deposits already paid aren't refunded once work has started unless we've agreed otherwise. Full detail in our Terms & Conditions.

What if I want more than what's included in my plan?

We'll flag it and quote the extra work before doing it. You'll never see a surprise charge for something you didn't agree to first.

Does pricing change based on my industry or location?

No. Foundation and Momentum are flat, published prices regardless of industry or where you're based. Apex is quoted on project complexity, not who's asking.

Technology, Ownership & How We Build

Who owns the final website and code?

You do, once it's paid in full. We can hold back source files and access until payment clears, same as any contractor relationship.

Is this site (or the ones you build) made with a website builder or AI tool?

Not the way you're picturing it. We build with Claude Code and other AI-assisted engineering tools, same as most serious software teams do today. The difference is what happens next: every detail and requirement you give us actually shapes the build, guided by real software engineering judgment, not slotted into a generic template a website-building AI produced on its own. That means no vendor lock-in to a builder's platform, no bloated code you didn't ask for, and a site that's genuinely yours to take anywhere.

What technology do you actually build with?

Clean, framework-free HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for most sites, fast-loading and easy to maintain long after launch. For projects that need more (logins, databases, custom tools), we bring in exactly what's needed for that, not more.

Can I move my site to a different host later?

Yes. Since it's hand-built with standard code rather than tied to a proprietary builder's platform, you're not locked into hosting with us or anyone else.

Will my site actually work well on phones and tablets?

Yes. Every site is built mobile-first and tested across devices before launch, not just designed for desktop and hoped to work elsewhere.

Can I edit content myself after the site launches?

Depends on the build: some projects include a simple way for you to update text or images yourself; others, we handle small edits as part of a maintenance plan. We'll tell you which applies to your project before we start.

SEO, Performance & Analytics

Do you handle SEO?

Every site is built with SEO-ready structure and fast, clean code from day one: the fundamentals search engines actually care about. Ongoing SEO campaigns (content, link-building) are a separate conversation, not included by default.

How fast will my site actually load?

Fast. Hand-written code with no page-builder bloat loads a lot quicker than a stack of plugins and generic components you don't need. Exact numbers depend on hosting and content, but performance is a build priority, not an afterthought.

Do you add analytics or tracking to my site?

Not unless you ask for it. This site itself carries no cookies or trackers (see our Privacy Policy) and we take the same approach with client sites: analytics only if you actually want them.

Can you help me show up in local search results?

We build the technical foundation (structure, speed, mobile-friendliness) that local search depends on. Ongoing local SEO work (reviews, listings, content) can be scoped as an add-on if you need it.

E-Commerce & Custom Features

Can you build an online store?

Yes. Full storefronts with a custom checkout flow fall under our Apex tier, quoted after a call to scope what you're actually selling and how.

Do you build booking or appointment systems?

Yes. Booking, scheduling, and quote-request systems are common Apex-tier builds. Tell us how you currently handle bookings and we'll design around it.

Can you integrate tools I already use?

Often, yes. Email marketing tools, payment processors, CRMs, and similar third-party services can usually be connected. Mention what you use when we scope the project so we can confirm it's feasible.

Can you build a members-only or password-protected area?

Yes. Member portals and gated content are Apex-tier work. It's the same custom-features category as e-commerce or booking systems.

Hosting, Domains & Email

Do you host my website?

We set up hosting for you at launch, but the account and cost are separate from our price, billed by the hosting provider directly, same as a domain.

Do I need to buy a domain separately?

Yes. Domain registration is a separate, ongoing cost billed by whichever registrar you buy it through, not included in our project price.

Can I keep using my current domain?

Yes. If you already own a domain, we'll point it at your new site during launch. No need to buy a new one just because you're rebuilding.

Can you set up business email for me?

We can point you to the right setup (usually your registrar's email forwarding, or a provider like Google Workspace), the account itself is yours and billed separately from our price, same as domains and hosting.

Support & Maintenance

What happens right after my site launches?

For two weeks after launch, we fix anything that's genuinely broken at no extra cost. Beyond that, ongoing updates are covered under Momentum's included year of maintenance, or billed as needed.

What's actually covered under maintenance?

Day-to-day stuff: content and image updates, bug fixes, security patches, small tweaks. New features, new pages, or a full redesign are scoped as their own project.

What if something breaks and I don't have a maintenance plan?

Reach out and we'll quote the fix. You're not locked out of support, it's just billed separately without an active maintenance plan.

Do you offer maintenance without a full rebuild?

Yes. If you already have a site elsewhere, we can quote ongoing maintenance on its own, separate from any redesign work.

Working Together

How do we actually communicate during the project?

Mostly email, with a call when it's genuinely faster to talk something through. Whatever's easiest for you, we'll work with it.

What's your typical response time?

Within one business day, usually much sooner. See our Contact page for direct ways to reach us.

Do I get one point of contact, or a rotating team?

One point of contact, the same person doing the work, not a go-between relaying messages to someone else.

Do you work with clients in different time zones?

Yes. We're remote-first and work asynchronously by default, with calls scheduled to fit your time zone when a real-time conversation makes sense.

Where can I find your Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy?

Linked in the footer of every page: Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

What information do you collect through the contact form?

Just what you type in: name, email, phone (optional), and project details. It's used to follow up with you and kept as a record; never sold or used for advertising. Full detail in our Privacy Policy.

What happens if we disagree about something?

We talk it through first: both sides agree to spend at least 30 days trying to resolve it directly before either of us goes to court. See Resolving Disputes in our Terms.

What law governs our contract?

The State of New Jersey, USA (see Governing Law in our Terms & Conditions).

Still have a question?

Ask us directly, no obligation, no pressure.
